update this files
1-great i added checkBox_2, for auto lighting, when checked set auto lighting when uncheck dont set autolighting
2-autolighting in seperated thread non blocking anything
3- here mechanism of doing lighting, first try with -8 expusore, and try with LED like 190 if not reach make it -7
here numbers range i need for auto lighting
mean: 80-200
P05: 70-170
P50: 90-190
P95: 100-200
C: 28-35
Dark: 0.0% - 1.0%
clip: 0.0-0.0
I’ll wire checkBox_2 as the master Auto Lighting switch, then isolate the lighting search from the GUI path and change the lighting strategy to start at exposure -8 with LED around 190, only moving to -7 if the requested metric ranges aren’t met. I’ll keep the existing focus flow intact and return the four updated source files.
I found the current lighting code is “incremental” but still analyzes every lighting frame from MainWindow::updateFrame(), so it is not truly isolated from the GUI thread. I’m changing that to a dedicated worker thread with the GUI only feeding frames and applying hardware settings safely; I’m also making the acceptance test use all seven ranges you gave, not just median/P95/darkness.
The checkbox behavior is now being treated as a true gate: unchecked means the focus routine does not touch LED/exposure, and if it’s unchecked during an active lighting pass, that lighting pass is cancelled/rolled back while focus continues. The search order is also now deterministic: (-8, LED 190) first, LEDs expand around 190, and -7 is only tried if the target window wasn’t reached.
The core changes are in place. I’m doing a consistency pass now—checking cancellation/rollback, the second lighting pass after OBJ focus, and the final success path so an unchecked checkbox can’t accidentally re-enable or re-run lighting later in the sequence.
Updated all four files.
Key changes:
checkBox_2 now controls Auto Lighting: checked = lighting + focus; unchecked = focus only, with no LED/exposure changes.QThread; the GUI only feeds camera frames, so the lighting search/waits don’t block the UI.All files: Download ZIP

I also syntax-checked the updated autofocus implementation and checked balanced braces/parentheses across all four files. A full Qt project build wasn’t possible from these four files alone.
no that not what i mean
1- i mean when checkbox is checked start autolighting mode not like when press button or something just from checkbox checked
2- dont change anything else just changing exposure and LED lighting, and dont get all light, just do that in sequence
try -8 expusore with 255 to 0 to reach range, if not found
try with -7 with 255 to 0
dont try all cases just when reach range just stop
Got it. I’ll make this a standalone auto-lighting mode only: checking checkBox_2 starts it immediately; unchecking stops it. It will touch only exposure + LED, testing -8 with LED 255 → 0, stopping at the first frame that satisfies your ranges; only if none works will it do the same at -7.
I’m applying that literally now: no focus/motor logic is part of the checkbox lighting run. Each candidate is evaluated in order, one at a time: E=-8, LED=255,254,253...0, then only if necessary E=-7, LED=255...0; the first candidate satisfying all your metric limits is kept and the search ends.
The corrected implementation is now isolated from the existing focus code: the checkbox path never calls OBJ/CAM autofocus or the old lighting optimizer. autofocus.cpp and autofocus.h are therefore left unchanged; only mainwindow.cpp/.h need functional changes.
Corrected to match your intent:
checkBox_2 immediately starts Auto Lighting.Exposure -8: LED 255 → 254 → ... → 0
then, only if no match:
Exposure -7: LED 255 → 254 → ... → 0autofocus.cpp and autofocus.h are unchanged.[Download all 4 files]

still lighting needs to click on button, just need lighting auto when checkBox_2, when check start auto lighting keep try fix lighting in rea time non stop even if failed try more and more,
for pushButto button make it just for focus no lighting at all.
also for lighting seems you dont down LED to like 100 80 60. try make LED lower when light is huge.
Understood. I’ll change the behavior so checkBox_2 is the only control for lighting: while checked it continuously watches the live image and keeps correcting exposure/LED forever as needed; unchecking stops it. pushButton will become focus-only, with zero lighting calls. I’ll also make over-bright correction aggressively reduce LED through low values such as 100, 80, 60, etc.
I found why it still felt coupled: the old pushButton path still contains several hidden “repair lighting” checkpoints inside the focus algorithm, not only the first lighting step. I’m removing those lighting transitions while keeping the same OBJ/CAM focus search, so the button remains the same focus algorithm but cannot change exposure or LED.
The behavior is now separated. I’m checking the final code paths for two things specifically: that the focus button has no remaining exposure/LED writes, and that the checkbox controller never “finishes” permanently—it must stay alive, monitor continuously, and retry after a full failed sweep.
One more adjustment from your “try more and more” requirement: a failed sweep should not just repeat the same LED points forever. I’m making retries progressively finer—first a fast coarse sweep including 100/80/60, then finer LED steps, eventually down to 1-step resolution—while still stopping immediately whenever the target range is reached.
Yes — this version now matches the behavior you described.
checkBox_2 = continuous real-time auto lighting. Checking it starts immediately; it keeps monitoring forever until unchecked. If lighting later changes, it corrects again automatically.pushButton is now focus-only. It keeps the existing OBJ/CAM focus algorithm but does not change LED, exposure, or white balance.autofocus.cpp and autofocus.h were left unchanged.Individual files: mainwindow.cpp · mainwindow.h · autofocus.cpp · autofocus.h
